BSc (Honours) Osteopathy. BSc (Honours) Psychology. MGOsC. Certified Dry Needling (Acupuncture)
Clinic owner and resident osteopath at the centre, it was Ben’s own serious neck injury that introduced him to Osteopathy. The injury caused him to lose the use of his left hand, but Osteopathy not only alleviated the pain, it gave him the use of his hand back again and meant he avoided needing an operation on his neck.
Because he knows first hand how important it is to have a body that works well, Ben’s experience led him to change career and study Osteopathy.
Starting off as a sports-injury masseuse, Ben studied for 5 years and qualified as an Osteopath in 2009. He went on to study post-graduate Western Medical Acupuncture (Dry Needling) and chiropractic biophysics for rehabilitation.
He’s also a qualified martial arts instructor and practices Tai Chi and Yoga for body alignment and health. Personal passions include mountain biking and mountain climbing, and he completed the three peaks challenge in 2012.
ITEC Massage, Class IV Laser Technician
Jo qualified as a masseuse (ITEC) in 2005 and specialises in holistic relaxation, recognising the importance and need for stress relief in our busy lives. She is also a fully trained Class IV Laser technician, assisting Ben Palmer (osteopath and clinic owner) with laser therapy and rehabilitation.
Jo joined the clinic in 2010 after a varied career which has included recruitment consultancy and even being a pub landlady in Wells!
Sports Massage, Clinic Assistant
Kate specialises in deep soft tissue massage which is particularly effective for sports injuries and lymphatic drainage. It increases blood flow in tired and damaged muscles, and improves physical mobility, performance and health.
Kate is the newest (and youngest!) member of our team, and has studied Sports Massage at Bridgwater College. She is a keen sports person and has had numerous injuries herself, so enjoys treating and helping other's using her skills.
Lee Harvey, Chiropractic
BSc MSc Chiropractic DC
Lee decided to dedicate his career to the chiropractic profession after treatment solved his daily neck pain and headaches. He graduated from the Anglo-European College of Chiropractic in 1998, and has worked with Ben Palmer (osteopath and clinic owner) for many years.
Lee works part-time at Wells Chiropractic and Osteopathy Centre, and also has his own practice in Weston-super-Mare (www.westonchiropractic.co.uk)
